Josh Sheppard is currently finishing his degrees in Music Education and Music Performance as well as a minor in Theater Performance at George Mason University. During his time at GMU, he studied under professors Jonathan Bisesi and John Kilkenny. He was also a member of many performing ensembles including the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, and Percussion Ensemble.

Josh has also performed with groups outside of George Mason including Carolina Gold DBC, Shadow DBC, GMU Indoor Percussion, the U.S. All-American Marching Band, Phantom Regiment, and Matrix World Indoor Percussion. He attended the Sewanee Summer Music Festival in the summer of 2019 and was the winner of the Jaqueline Avent Concerto Competition.

After graduating from GMU, Josh will continue his educational journey at James Madison University where he will pursue a Masters Degree in Percussion Performance. While there, he will study under professor Casey Cangelosi and serve as the Graduate Percussion Assistant to the Royal Marching Dukes.
